Job Designation
The purpose of this position is to effectively manage procurement activities and cross-functional relationships with assigned suppliers ensuring appropriate purchasing policies and procedures are applied at all times.
Job Core Responsibilities
Manage relationships with suppliers of goods and services to ensure quality, cost, delivery, & inventory levels to meet the KPIs of the organization.
Ensure conformance to contract obligations and terms and conditions.
Conduct requests for quotation, evaluation, negotiations, and sourcing activities as directed in order to meet performance targets and business guidelines.
Maintain blanket POs with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) suppliers to ensure on time delivery and adherence to entitlement of inventory.
Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases. Accountable for commodity Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) performance.
Place purchase orders on time to ensure all goods and services are supplied in accordance with customer and company requirements while optimizing levels of inventory.
Expedite and/or escalating problems efficiently both internally and externally to minimize impact on our business.
Facilitate and lead meetings internally and externally as required to address issues including daily accountability meetings, weekly open order reviews & escalation calls with suppliers.
Support of the procurement of materials and services including obsolesce, engineering changes, part revisions, invoice issues, pricing discrepancies, expediting/de-expediting, cancellations, and the management of defective materials (RMA/RTV).
Ensure system accuracy such as supplier contact information, lead times, minimum order quantities, delivery frequency, and schedules.
Review KPIs related to purchasing effectiveness and efficiency in order to determine corrective actions where necessary and to explore opportunities for continuous improvement, including joint initiatives with suppliers where appropriate.
Support product development, Kaizens, supplier capacity analysis and other supplier engagement processes in support of departmental goals.
Liaise with program management teams and take appropriate actions as directed from customers.
Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations, company policies and processes
Generate and manage detailed supply chain metrics to support company KPIs including inventory entitlement and input relief models.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor degree required
Certifications: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP formerly APICS) a plus.
Years of
Experience: 5-8 years of procurement experience
Skills:
Experience in purchasing materials for a manufacturing organization
Demonstrated ability to prepare bid documents, handle bidding process and analyze all bid results
Strong experience negotiating license contracts with a track record of success
Solves complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to drive tasks to completion
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Data analysis skills a plus

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
